I always loved cooking, my preference was always baking. Unfortunately I stopped baking as I would eat all the Sweets that a cooked, which was not helping with my weight.
The Thermomix initially gave me a way to prepare meals for my family while caring for my children. Over time I have expanded on what I use my Thermomix to cook and create. My main source of inspiration has been the Thermomix Recipe Platform known as Cookidoo

One thing that has really helped me over the last few years is meal planning. by planning out my meals for the week I have reduced the amount of fast food we eat, as well as the amount of wasted food in our house.
To reduce food wastage further I have started doing a tiny amount of meal preparation in to form of collecting all of the fridge items for a meal together in a container in on a shelf in my fridge, and doing this for each meal. This helps me to see what is left in my fridge, sort out what needs to go to my chickens or compost, and helps me choose meals for the week, and stops me buying things we already have, saving me money.
I also try to do a bulk meat shop at a butcher on a monthly basis. I don't always get everything i want for the week, and often still end up buying meat as part of my weekly shop, but by buying a slab of steak, and portioning myself I can control how much we have at any given meal. In some cases this means a money saving, and in others it means enjoying a smaller portion of a higher quality, and better flavour meat.
