Why did I Join? I first started this business in October 2017 as a way to reduce the number of days I needed to return to work after having my daughter. The flexible hours really appealed to me, and I wanted to share with people how this amazing product that had improved my ability to put a balanced meal on the table for my family, given me back time to spend with my children, and was saving me money. I decided that to give the business a fair shot, I needed to try it for a full twelve months. Over three years later, I'm still here and loving it. Why did I stay? Support: As a Thermomix Consultant I run my own business, but that doesn't mean that I'm alone. I am a member of a team of consultants, we support each other, not only in our individual businesses, but in our lives. These are people I have come to think of as friends, not just colleagues. As a team we have run a number of Cooking classes, as well as running the occasional day of "Lives" on our joint customer Facebook page during lockdown. Training: We have access to a wide range of training both in a structured virtual setting as well as in more relaxed monthly zoom sessions. Some of these training sessions are required to maintain our business and meet legal requirements, while others are optional opportunities designed to give us new skills to use in our businesses. Some of these are run by our Managers, while other sessions are run by external companies who specialise in specific areas of business. Flexability: As a business owner I get to decide what hours I work, and when I want to take time off. That means I can allocate time for my family, and work my business around that. The Thermomix is a very versatile machine, so if I want to go on a holiday I can simply take it with me. and if I don't want to do that; I just need to be organised, to make sure I have Social media posts ready to go, and am accessible to support my customers remotely. Confidence: Since becoming a consultant I have noticed an increase in confidence. I am more confident in talking to people, not only as part of my business, but in my day to day life as well. I have learned so much about food and cooking that my own mother now asks me what new ingredients are, what she can use as alternatives, and how to do things like shape bread and rolls.
